Heres the response I received from AFN regarding the live broadcast of the football championship games: ------------ AFN Affiliate Relations Response ------------ Dennis, AFN will report on the DoDDs High School Football championships on both radio and TV, but we regret that we will not be able to broadcast the games live this year. It was not a decision we made lightly. Over the past year, weve had major personnel cuts and operational funding cuts that have impacted our ability to broadcast live events such as DoDDs High School championships. In past years, our team for the championships was 18-30 people who worked on the event for more than a week and put more than a month of planning into the production. An additional factor in our decision is that, in years past, we found broadcasting the games live helped us reach parents deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
