Heres the run down of yesterday: We received a call that a there was a woman in Henderson who not only is breeding numerous dogs, but the dogs are all from a local shelter...this is a big no no, as its state law to spay/neuter your adopted animals. Before we jump to conclusions, we always like to speak to them ourselves, see the situation ourselves (this is how we found the puppy mill) because, sometimes people exaggerated (I know, shocking) Upon arrival, I encountered 10 dogs I could count in the front window, barking, and carrying on (not a big deal, youll see the same here) There were 4 50lb bags of empty pedigree on the porch as well. (dogs are eating thats good) When I knocked on the door, a chorus of other dogs responded, the window to the right of the porch had 5 pits looking/barking at me (this now makes 15 I have seen with my own eyes) A woman steps out, clearly under the influence of something. I ask if she has any puppies. She gets excited and tells me no they died, but Im fixin to have more Now,, as opened the door to come outside, a smell, unlike anything I am used to hit me, and I covered my mouth and nose GAGGING, but pretended to sneeze. I ask what breed pups they will be and she tells me Doxies. She breeds doxies. I am more than welcome at this point to come see the other ones so I can see what the up coming litter looks like (meaning the dead puppies) I decline. The woman looks at her shoulder, brushes it off, and goes Oh maggots And I pretend sneeze again. She leaned into me to say something, and my jacket then became a carrier of the smell. It wasnt urine, or feces. I can not describe this smell. I was like rotting garbage and death. It had soaked into her. Upon leaving, I call the sheriff. They take NONE of my contact info other than my name. An hour later, I call them back and speak to a officer Ross. Who tells me he went out there, he only saw 15 dogs, and did not see maggots on the dogs, or the man he spoke to, and the dogs he witnessed all appeared to be healthy. Then told me to have a good night....So there we are.
