Here’s a story, as told by one of my friends in a status update (shared with permission), that I enjoyed so much I had to repost because its just so awesome when karma finally gets it right: “Several years ago, I was called to this house for a cable problem. The guy was in his 80s and there wasnt anything really wrong, he just didnt know how to work a remote. And he wanted to talk. This happens with the elderly a lot. Anyway, I showed him how to use the remote and set up his favorite channels so theyd be easier to get to. Then he tried to tip me....with a sheet of gold coins. I turned down the gold so he tried to give me his car, a 68 Camaro SS. So I called his sons number on the fridge and told him what was going on, that he might want to come have a talk with his dad before he signed over the deed to the house to the plumber or whoever came over next. His son just called. The guy died on Friday. Hed left me a gold coin.”
