Hey Everyone, Hope you are all settling into the start of your brilliant 2015. I thought I would share some pics of the most amazing experience of visiting the Philippines and Hong Kong over the Christmas and New Year period. Holidays are such a great way to discover deeper insights within oneself and of course these insights aid in building deeper and more meaningful relationships. Holidays can be a time for personal reflection of thoughts and behaviours, to simply observe oneself, further to drop anything that isnt serving you and replacing it with what is, a perfect start to a brand new year. We are so very fortunate to live in a country like Australia, yet there are so many countries that do not experience the luxuries of our own. I still question if our comforts in Australia really do bring happiness. Of course there is so much more to consider, but when visiting a country like the Philippines, it confirms that money certainly does not always buy happiness. In the Philippines, I was fascinated most by the sense of complete freedom. There are really no rules to abide by in the Philippines except for an unspoken understanding of common sense and respect. Even the land animals (of course were being bred for slaughter) had freedom to roam the streets and be one with its people. After all, isnt it freedom that we are all aiming to experience?...along with love and of course, the opportunity to reach our human potential? This led me to a personal insight I thought worth sharing, that is, creativity is everywhere. Here I was, a westerner, experiencing life in a fairly impoverished country and experiencing huge amounts of creativity by the culture of its people. Everything is used creatively in the Philippines and more importantly, most things that we would think are garbage had complete value in this country. I then thought I should start my own personal challenge and live like I have nothing and see how creative I can be with the little I have. Im still working out the details with this, Ill keep you all updated :-) Hong Kong offered something different. A densely populated area full of grey buildings and mass consumerism. Shop till you literally drop. However it was in Mong Kok where I felt the real essence of Hong Kong and its people. Please enjoy the pics. I literally took hundreds of them, here are just a select few that I hope captures the experience and offers something of value to you. In any event, if you havent experienced life outside of Australia, or any country that has challenged your comforts, please visit the Philippines. The cultural richness that can be experienced is lost through photos and words, it is much better to experience this in person and feel the warmth and freedom this country has to offer. Here is to you finding as much Freedom, Love and Unlimited & Untapped Potential in 2015.
