Hey Facebooktards, I have a question for you dog peeps. I have a dog that suffers from chronic yeasty skin problems. He itches severely and I know that diet is a huge factor. I have been experimenting with all kinds of brands for years but nothing seems to help. Im told low glycemic/low carb/anti inflammatory/grain free foods are the best but I cant find a brand that doesnt have some form of starchy sugars like potatoes, sweet potatoes and potato starch. Right now hes on Blue Wilderness with bison and has been for 6 months or longer. This has been his worst year to date. I believe it is getting worse with his age, he is 12. Today I bathed him in a water/vinager/peroxide disinfectant and Ill see if it helps him any. It sure seemed to hurt him during the process. I imagine it burned on his raw skin. I am pulling my hair out to help my BFF. Has anyone else dealt with this or have any suggestions for food brands or other treatments? And yes, I have taken him to the vet. They prescribe oral steroids every time and it works, but it isnt healthy for his organs to keep taking them. HELP!!!
