Hey Friends- its just me- Jenny. Annie is still passed out and drooling from our first big day at Disneyworld! What a HUGE gift to be here, we are soaking up every single second of Princess-Mouse-loving fun. I wanted to take a few minutes before she wakes up, to tell you about the giving away of 500 of my new albums(eps) and how that came about. If you dont read anything from me READ THIS! One- I never thought I would make a book AND an album. I am blown away by that rare gift. Two- One of the families that is partnering with me in a BIG way asked me how much it would cost to get my solo-independent-music on the radio? This donor wanted to know what that would take and how much it would cost. I explained to the family the typical process, in the Christian industry, of getting on the radio. And by the end of that lengthy explanation, I got to my heart on the matter and told him what I want to tell you: I believe Christian radio is a GIFT to the world and impacts so many people. I would love to be on the radio- who wouldnt? BUT, if you have $15,000 to spend on my ministry, what I really want is this: Help me make music and books and print them en masse to GIVE AWAY to the thousands of ladies I meet a year who are just coming out of prison, are in Mercy Ministry recovery homes, are living in transitional shelters and safe houses. Help me make Christ-centered books and music about redemption and hope and grace and new life and then help me GIVE THEM AWAY. Because the truth is, in this season of my career, Ive already been on the radio with Addison Road (and I am wildly grateful for that) and that was only made possible by an amazing team surrounding us at the record label. Those types of teams are hard to come by; they cost a lot of money if they arent in-house with your record label; and at the end of the day, despite the work of you and your team do, the decision is still in the hands of a very small, select group of men running the Christian radio stations. Since I am not interested in the numbers behind sound scans (the tracking system that keeps up with how many albums people are selling and who is on top in the charts) I dont care if I give away 500 CDs or 500 books. Or 5000 for that matter! Because in this season, I get to do things in a new way. And that new way means: How can we give it away to the people who most need to hear it or read it? In this season, my hearts desire is to see how far we can go in hosting a great big banquet and bringing in the least of these. If I had the financial means, I would dedicate an entire year to do free shows for prisons, recovery houses, shelters and celebrate recovery programs at churches across the country. And I would give every person there a copy of the book #TheRoadtoBecoming and the new music #ToBeWell. So if you want to join me- join that. Once I hit $50,000 I will be able to print the first round of cds and set aside 500 of those to be given away.
