Hey Gang, Randy here... Im sure many of you have seen or heard the news about the death of Robin Williams. What you may not know was that he was one of us. Thats right. One of the most gifted comedians of our time, a genius, was a big nerd. Just like you and me. Robin Williams played video games like Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft. He named his daughter Zelda after all. He collected and painted miniatures, specifically Eldar and some Warmachine and Hordes figures. He enjoyed anime like Akira, Cowboy Bebop, and Ghost in the Shell. He was a lot like us. Only richer and way more talented. The reason Im bringing this up is to point something out. We are a community. And, Mom jokes, Snickers jokes, and the occasional bad game aside, a fairly tight one. We tend to look out for each other. Which is a good thing. Really. I dont mean just locally, but everywhere we roll dice and revel in our geekiness. I personally suffer from depression, and I know there are others out there that do. But I have a support network of good friends and fellow gamers to lean on if I need it. The same cant be said for everyone though. So if you see someone struggling, just take a minute to check on them. Even if you dont know them. You might make a difference, and maybe save a life. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
