Hey Gang, This week, I have been reading Psalm 91. My favorite part of this psalm is vs. 14-15. God is speaking and says to His people: “I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them , and honor them” psalm 91: 14-15 In other words, God says; “I got your back!” Do you know what this psalm made me think of? It reminded me of a time that a bully was picking on a group of friends in school. We decided to make a stand against the bully. So, we made a pack to stand together and never leave a friend by himself. We had each other’s back. The result was that the bully backed down because we were a stronger force together than when we were alone. A similar promise was made between my wife and I at our wedding. In front of the world, we promised to love and honor each other no matter what. Although we used different words to say it, in essence we made a promise to have each other’s backs in this journey called life. And we have discovered that together we can face any bully’s that come our way. That’s the promise God is making in our scripture. He is promising us that we don’t have to go through this world alone. Through thick and thin, in times of confusion and fear; when it feels like we are all alone…..He is there with us…..He has our back. Imagine what your life can look like when you’re standing next to Him! May we make the same promise to each other! See you in church, Pastor Jeff
