Hey Guys - I meant to get this up a month ago. But... here it is. Happy Birthday Crossroads! Happy Birthday Crossroads – sweet sixteen! It started in an alley… Sixteen years ago, we gathered a bunch of ragamuffin kids and started a church. Our mission is simply to win a generation to Jesus Christ. We want to show and tell the last, the lost, the least and as many people as we possibly can about the love of God; to invite them to “come home” to the Father who is rich in love, full of mercy, and offers friendship, hope, and a new way of life that is better than anything else in this world. Inviting people to know the great love and saving power of Jesus Christ, inviting them into a relationship with Jesus and with his people – the church, inviting them to take a journey that is the adventure of a lifetime – the Jesus journey. This is who we are. This is what we do. Is there anything greater that we could give our lives to? Our prayer is this: “Father, send us the ones that nobody else wants. Send us to the people who are in desperate need of some good news. Let us be the good news – in actions and words; in kindness and serving. Show your great power to rescue, heal, and save; show your relentless love that never ceases to pursue us; for no one is beyond the reach of your great love. And do this, Lord, through us – your ragamuffins.” For those of you who have been on this journey with us, may you ever and deeper know the love of God. May his love continue to break your heart, to ruin you, to strengthen you and cheer you on. May the power of his Spirit ever be on you and in you; giving you the grace you need in your Jesus journey, the power to speak into the darkness and bring hope, freedom, healing, and salvation to all who are prisoners there. May your life shine with the good news of Jesus Christ and his kingdom – a cup of cold water to all who are thirsty; a refuge of hope ever constant and faithful; a road of mercy pointing the way of salvation. For those of you who have recently joined us – welcome! May your time at Crossroads strengthen you in your Jesus journey, help you grow in Christ, build in you the blessing of community and belonging, break your heart for the last, the lost, and the least, and ruin you for anything else in this world but Jesus – his love, his kingdom, his mission; his friendship and salvation. Dear Crossroads, the Lord Jesus beckons us to be his, to follow him, and to proclaim and prove the good news of his kingdom. He has come to awaken us with a kiss, and to call us into the next part of our journey, into the harvest fields of humanity – waiting; ready for his harvest. Let us arise and go with him, wherever he leads. To the journey…
