Hey New Yorkers, lets join Elana Meta Jaroff & others in the Pure House community for what might possibly be the world largest mobilizations to combat climate change. Dear Friends and Fellow Planet Dwellers, If you havent already heard, or seen the signs on the subway, Im here to remind you that what looks to be one of the largest world-wide mobilizations to combat climate change is going to happen next weekend. The Peoples Climate March will happen on Sunday September 21, with groups gathering at 11am. This is timed to coincide with a UN Summit on Climate Change, and the goal is to get leaders to recognize that people around the world are ready for them to put saving the planet on the agenda. I will be marching with my amazing mom, who has dedicated her life to organizing and fighting for food justice and sustainability as ways to help the health of the planet and our communities. She is marching with a Food Justice group that is going to wear kitchen whites, aprons, other kitchen attire, and bang pots & pans, and carry signs relating Food and Sustainability. I would LOVE to have any and all friends join - we know how to costume, make spontaneous spectacle and celebrate on floats around the country for fun and Pride.... can we do it for the planet too? I know its last minute but I think this is the fight of our generation and I hope we can motivate together to make change possible.
