Hey!! Please click the link below - heres a short story to explain why... I never in a million years thought I would get ovarian cancer. My mom died of breast cancer, and I was sure *that* was the McNasty that was going to find me someday. It was tragic to lose my mom when she was 42 years old because more than 30 years ago there was not such great screening for breast cancer. Boom, gone. Now, the screening is amazing. What a relief to know that my sisters and I can get screened (and we do!) and to see my friends who have found issues early be able to deal with them and move on. But heres the thing... there is *no* screening test for ovarian cancer. And because of that most women are diagnosed at an advanced stage like I was. It aint pretty, friends. Yall know. You have supported me through the poison-me-filet-me-poison-me treatment plan and then through The Zapping most recently. What would I do without you?? Just once a year I do my best to support a great cause that funds research into screening and treatment for ovarian cancer because this disease NEEDS a screening test and exciting genetic-based treatments are on the horizon. Making chemo a quirky historical medical story would be ideal. I am hopeful that even the extra challenges that have come my way CAN be met and conquered through research because research is what has gotten me this far. As my sister-in-love, Karen Foley, (in the picture) says if you have an ovary, if you know someone with an ovary, or if you came from an ovary then we need your support. Our team for Ovarian Cycle Atlanta can get to $5k this year. I KNOW IT. Contributions of any size will help. Sharing this message will help. I know a bunch of you supported us last year. THANK YOU again for that. The event is this Saturday so Ill have my pom poms up for a couple of days about this because I know there will be some exciting updates. I do get by with a little help from my friends. Sometimes I just have to ask. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ovariancycle.kintera.org/atlanta/klfoley1971
