Hey all - just a quick one to wish you all a very happy New Year - hope we all get something like what we deserve for 2015. I am watching a martials arts film - great quote from IP Man - who basically spawned martial arts as it is today - but this quote exemplifies his philosophy when talking to the Japanese General who wants him to teach the way to the Japs after the Japanese government has invaded China and killed and tortured millions. Martial arts may be a form of brute strength But our Chinese systems includes many ideals and philosophies The virtue of martial arts is benevolence You Japanese will never understand this principle Because you turn this power into violence to terrorise others You dont deserve to learn our martials arts Its an interesting quote. On the first read I instantly thought of our politic and how we use violence to induce fear - in all areas of our global population. But although I think IP man was the best martials arts master ever - of course!! Well I dont agree with the sentiment re people will never understand. Happy new year everyone :) x much love
