Hey brothers and sisters in Christ, (Warning: this will be a long post) I hope that your week is starting off great, and that you all enjoyed this past weekend with the holidays and vacation (I know I did). I wanted to share with you what Gods been teaching me lately. Ill go ahead and warn you, this post wont end with and Im forever changed because of this. Gods still working in my life, and there will always be another thing for God to work on. (Im truly thankful for that, I pray my soul never becomes at ease throughout my life, so that Ill stay convicted and continue down this journey Im going through...) Ive been feeling incredibly overwhelmed and worn out for the past few weeks. Im sure most of you have felt this way at some point in your life. In all honesty, the fire of God that Ive felt inside my soul for months really felt like itd been put out. Im sure thats how Satan wanted me to continue to feel as well. Unfortunately for him, I dont, and that fire for God was never put out. I feel it inside of me as strong as ever! Heres what Ive found: 1) God NEVER leaves you. His love never fails and it surely NEVER gives up on us. Its rather hard for me to grasp this concept that we have a God who is a loving Father to us. But the bible tells us that God is love himself. There is nothing more wholesome or satisfying than the love of God our Father. Hell never leave us, or forsake us, even when at times it feels like He has. - * And in those times that it feels like He left, take a minute and examine the situation... make sure YOU werent the one who walked away instead * 2) Following God is DEPENDING on Gods strength, not your own. For some reason, as hard-headed and stubborn as I am (just ask my girlfriend), this isnt a difficult concept for me personally. Were talking about the creator of the UNIVERSE here! This isnt just a minor god of small things! This is the ALPHA and OMEGA! This is the God who came down to earth, born of a virgin, lived a PERFECT, SINLESS life, died for OUR sins, and CAME BACK from the dead victorious. This is the God of IMMEASURABLY MORE! Take a minute and realize, that this is the God who knew that you were going to be reading this post... before you even stepped foot on this earth, yeah He is THAT God.... I dont know about you guys, but when Someone as powerful as THAT offers to carry me through life, I would GLADLY give him control. Because in all honesty, every time Ive ever thought that Ive had it right or that I could do it on my own, Ive just crashed and burned. But when God is in control, my life has been set right. (And Ive never felt more alive, free, or happy, except for when hes been in control, by the way) 3) Have faith and be still! Sometimes we are too impatient, and we fail to just wait for Gods timing. Following God is like running up a downward escalator (cmon, weve all done it). You run as hard as you can, but no matter what you always fall back just a little bit. Patiently put in the effort, and you eventually make it to the top. But if you take a break and stop, you fall back even further, and thats not what you want as a christian. Have the faith to understand that God knows best. You just have to have the faith the size of a mustard seed, and youll be able to MOVE MOUTAINS! Be still, pray, read Gods word, and know that he is God! Following God isnt a 5 easy step process, and your entire life wont change in a matter of seconds.. but if youre patient, and you keep going, watch God do His wonders... Your prayers would be greatly appreciated as well, because Gods not finished with me yet. Im only 16, a junior dealing with all the drama of high school and worrying about the GPA, SAT/ACT, and college. But I know that God has a plan for me (Jeremiah 29:11), and Hes going to do great things through me. And the same goes for you - have faith and He will use you to do great things!
