Hey church family! Next Thursday there is a community event at the United Methodist church we meet in! It runs from 6:00 until approximately 8:30. It is a poverty simulation put on but a local organization called, Circles. This event is somewhat playful in that you get to role-play the life of someone in poverty. You will be assigned family groups at the event. That family structure has different needs/goals and your role in the simulation is to live out and attempt to achieve those needs/goals. It will then be concluded with debriefing... talking about some of the cycles and frustrations in poverty that weve noted through this role-playing. I highly recommend this event. I attended the event last year and felt like I better understood poverty through this experience. If you are interested in going, please see the attached flyer for more information.
