Hey everyone HAPPY 4th! We are so excited as I am finalizing our pageant plans! I promise you will love what we have in store for you. Some of you filled out the questions sheet in your packet and I will email those that asked questions personally but I am going to answer them on here incase some of you had the same questions:) 1) Food allergies...is there an alternative for the pizza party? I am so sorry but no. I dont think we could ever find a menu large enough to meet everyones needs so if there is an issue with pizza please bring something else and we will make sure to give that to our nurses. 2) DVDs Here is the DVD info. You will be available to purchase a DVD on pageant weekend so if you dont do it ahead of time no worries. Tom’s Videography will be videotaping the Miss You Can Do It Pageant again this year. If you are not familiar with Tom’s Videography, I have been videotaping Pageants since 1996. I’ve have also videotaped the Miss Iowa Pageant for the last 6 years. I use wireless microphone for better sound. Besides video taping the whole pageant from beginning to the end, we will include casual shots before the Pageant After the crowning, we will be videotaping family, friends and group shots. If you would like to own a copy of the Pageant they are only $30. if ordered on or before pageant day. After the pageant, it will be $35. The Pageant video will be on DVD(s) with a decorative case. The delivery date is approximately 4-6 weeks from the end of the Pageant. If you have any questions concerning the video, please call 309-586-4111 or email me at [email protected] * tomsvideography or Like us on Facebook 3) What type of questions are asked in private interview? Whatever you answered on your contestant resume is what they will ask you. Why you entered the pageant? Favorite movie? Favorite fun thing to do? etc. Nothing too stressful. Although all of our contestants are required to go into private interview alone so no help from parents! 4) If you do your own hair and make up is there a location for that? Not during the day but once we arrive at the Civic Center there is a dressing room where you can do that. 5) Who is allowed to the Castle. The contestants only! We will have our entire pageant staff, our hostesses, group leaders, nurses, a doctor, princesses, and pageant queens. This is their special time so we ask that you drop your contestant off, enjoy a bit of free time and come back and get them. If you hate leaving them then drop them off 5 mins before their interview and pick them right back up. We dont have the room to have 85 contestants all of our staff and all of the contestants families and friends. This is a private party just for our special girls. We will have a photographer on site and those pictures will be free of charge and you will be able to download them. 6) Is my husband able to escort? No! We have our own escorts who we have already worked with, who have memorized the stage and where to go when. The pageant is all about growing and learning that you can do anything! So our contestants use our escorts and if there is ever a huge issue (which has only happened once) Snow White, Cinderella or Princess Anna will be happy to escort that contestant. 7) The 3 outfits you need our Private interview, Casual Wear and Evening Gown. 8) Are cameras and videos allowed. They sure are! 9) How far is the dressing room from the stage? Its right by the stage so very close. (But your contestant will be onstage and see everything at Friday nights rehearsal so if changes need to be made you can have time to do so) 10) Are all entrances to the stage wheelchair accessible? Yes! They have to be for us to book there :) 11) Will there be an agenda with a schedule? yes there will but I cant make an agenda until I get everyones packets in which is why my cut off is Tuesday. So I can have an agenda mailed or emailed to you all by next weekend for sure. 12) Was the insurance sheet included in the packet? Yes is was. there was two legal docs in the pageant one was insurance related the other was photo/video related. 13) What is the Tudi Edwards Award. When we first started our pageant 11 yrs ago an amazing woman was on our board named Tudi. She was fun and crazy and always positive, saying nice things to everyone and always had a smile. We lost her in 2007 to cancer. She lived until the pageant that year. She even helped that year and passed away soon after. The Tudi award goes to someone like her. Someone who stands out just because they light up the whole room :) Its a true honor to receive the Tudi Award. 14) Who needs tickets? Everyone besides the contestant and their hostess. All tickets are sold through ticketmaster so if you have any ticket related question we actually have very little to do with ticket. For those of you having two hostesses because you are in a wheel chair, both hostesses with get a free ticket. Make SURE you bring your hostess to rehearsal. 15) Is it okay to bring posters and signs? ITS A MUST!!!!! :) its a pageant!! We want you to scream and clap and hold up signs. Cheer you contestant on as much as you can so bring whatever you need to to let your contestant know how proud of them you are! And there you have it:) thats all the questions Ive gotten so far. Cant wait to see you! xoxo Abbey
