Hey everyone. Its Christina. Mike & I attended the event tonight & really. enjoyed it. Mike said, Youd never know Tom used to be afraid of speaking in public. He talks like he doesnt have a care in the world up there. We do enjoy going to the events when we can. Will walked around some. Atticus mostly lounged on a table. Tom talked & laughed & watched his language (a little since there some kids in the audience). Two things struck me tonight. I like looking at the faces in the audience when Tom tells stories. People are never bored. They seem to light up & keep their eyes on him. The second was typical Tom. A nice woman in the audience politely asked Tom if he could pick up Atticus so they could see him because he was lying on the table. Tom smiled & just as politely said No. Atticus would rather just lay there tonight. He gets to do what he wants. Following Atticus fan Kathy Lanigan spent a lot of the night holding Will & even took him outside twice. Eat your heart out ladies! Kathy was all smiles!! Im told there were 130 people in attendance. What a nice crowd for a book thats been out for nearly three years. Mike just said, Imagine what the crowds will be like when the new book comes out. Hes right. I think its going to be crazy! While we sit home in North Conway, Atticus, Will & Tom are sitting on top of Elephants Head in Crawford Notch. Its not a long hike or too steep. They stopped on the way home & Atticus led the way while Tom carried Will up to the viewpoint. I just received a text from Tom...Atticus is sitting like he always does, but instead of the view hes looking up at the visible stars. Will surprises me. He was sleeping heavily in the car but is wide awake on my lap. He seems alert and very happy to be in the night air. I too am happy - as happy as can be. Tonights event was great. A wonderful crowd! Now were sitting under the night and the stars collecting ourselves. It feels like were on our own bit of heaven. Thanks for coming tonight. Ill echo what Tom just said.
