Hey everyone! On Thursday Malek and I will be going over some basic Android app development. We would like to make a simple app with the class, and if everyone could get the correct software on their computers, that would help us a lot! You can get the Android Developer Tools (ADT) here: developer.android/sdk/index.html If you already have eclipse installed on your computer and have been using it, once you have the ADT installed, you can do the following to import the packages you need: in Eclipse go to Help > Install New Software and input the link: https://dl-ssl.google/android/eclipse/ You might have to alter the classpath of any program you were currently working with. This can be a little frustrating, but copy/pasting your program should give you the correct classpath. Im not sure anyone else will have this problem, but it happened with my dynamic web pages... If you can get everything installed by Thursday and want to run your app on your device, bring a USB cord for your computer/phone, and read up on this article: developer.android/training/basics/firstapp/running-app.html#RealDevice You will have to allow USB debugging and might have to install your devices driver. Please let me know if youre having troubles. It wont be required to have this installed, but it would be nice to have a few people work-shopping on whatever app we demo.
