Hey everyone, just a quick note to say thank you. Thanks to Nastassja Sheppard Larson and Kate MacDonald, the two other girls who were locked up with me. They showed great courage, and I am so proud of them and thankful for their support. Also a huge thanks to Genevieve Wilson for being so brave and supportive. It may not seem as scary as what we did too some, but for Genevieve, doing what she did took as much courage as chaining yourself to a police station. I am amazed and so lucky in the support we got yesterday. I am truly lucky in the people who brought us food and sent us messages of love. The beeps and thumbs up from cars, the messages on facebook and twitter, not just from the public in New Zealand, but around the world. It seems this case has touched the hearts of many, and the lack of reaction from the police to defend these young women has made the world a bit more of a dangerous place. The support of the public has countered that, and so thank you. Change always comes from the bottom up, and every message of love has helped make some change. To the member of the public who dropped a cowardly note on our laps; Thank you. You proved our point, and even if the 13 year old victim was ‘guilty’ of all those things, she is STILL not responsible, or, as you put it, to blame, for what happened to her. Nothing a victim does makes a rape their fault, and as long as there are people like yourself in the world who think that, we will not cease. I would chain myself to something again, even if it was only you and you alone who thought that, in support of that victim. I have a serious medical condition. I knew doing what I did would cause it to flare up, but what is a few hours of pain compared to what the victims of the so called ‘roast busters’ have gone through. I made the choice that it was worth it, and I have no regrets. Thank you all for the support and care you have shown me, I will be fine, and I am back at work today!
