Hey family and friends...I was fortunate enough to be invited to join a movement called Flood the streets with Art and would love to have some of the artists that I know and love (or just artistic people who would love to share their art) join me in this worldwide endeavor. Brief overview is that we create a piece of art (photograph, painting, drawing, sculpture, knitting project, crochet, fashion designs, music, etc) and on Black Friday when people are trampling each other to get a dvd player for five bucks, we drop our art on a park bench or leave it outside the door of a business or on a sidewalk with a tag on it that says Free (or whatever catchy little thing you want to say so that the finder knows it is theirs to take home and enjoy). Scott Wongs inspiration for this is simply that it hurt him that we spend Thanksgiving being thankful for everything and everyone in our lives and the very next day we are willing to risk life and limb to secure some good deal on a material possession that is relatively meaningless to the person or machine that created it. He wanted to continue the spirit of giving throughout the weekend by giving away more meaningful things to people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to own such things. In the past two days 1300+ people have joined the movement and vowed to leave at least one piece of free art on the streets for someone to take home and love. If you would like to join us and havent received an invitation from me yet, please let me know and Ill invite you! I love being a part of something this big!
