Hey friends, its cold and only getting colder in our neck of the woods. We arent letting that stop Codys progress though...we bundled up (face masks/neck warmers are my best friend) and did a nice 30 minute hike. That said, little Norman had his first case of sore pads along the way and our temps are just going lower and lower. This is a pretty easy trick Im going to try out to prevent pain for our four-legged friends; without giving up the outdoor walks/hikes until Spring thaw. Apply a thin even layer of balm just before going out for a wintery walk. After the walk wipe your dog’s paws with a warm washcloth to remove snow, ice and ice melt. Then apply another layer of balm to soothe any irritation and to keep them from drying out. Bag Balm can be found in most drug stores and pet stores. If you can’t find Bag Balm then Vaseline is an acceptable alternative. Do you guys have any other handy Winter tricks that we should know about?
