Hey guys, 3 years ago I founded a language school in Northern Peru after backpacking Latin America for 9 months. Since back then we incremented tourism in the area significantly but tried to make it as sustainable as possible as our students buy in small local stores, eat in small corner-restaurants and when travelling on the weekends we help them arrange their trips entirely with local bus companies and local guides instead of just booking tours with big inter-regional tourism companies. We also do a lot of Volunteering and recently decided to change the form of our organization into a non-profit as this reflects more what we do. Our latest two main projects are: - Establishing free English classes for the whole population - Supporting a foundation that aims to protect manta rays in Northern Peru. They will need a donation of approx. 8000 USD to start their projects. To be able to reach those goals we are always looking for Spanish students (the whole infrastructure we set up for Spanish classes can then be used for English classes as well) and volunteers.
