Hey people. Id like to draw your attention to this, please. Swansea council are unfairly cracking down on one of Swanseas best establishments, the one and only Mozarts. Basically they dont like the fact that Mozarts has a 4am license, and now with a paltry four complaints, they are trying to stop it. Mozarts is one of the only places that doesnt play the same old chart shit, one of the only places that doesnt have cocaine fuelled steroid junkies causing fights, and the ONLY place that has such a diverse rota of club nights - for example Gas Station Bop (60s rock & roll), Schwing (90s pop), and of COURSE the legendary Spandex Ballet (80s AWESOMENESS). And that doesnt even cover Mozarts as a live venue. It remains one of my very favourite venues I have ever played, and Ive seen some fantastic acts there. Any musician who has played there will agree that it is a joy to be a part of, and it has become a platform for so many of us locals to play at great nights (Skye, Oak Sessions, and Mozarts own Acoustic Summer Sessions) to a supportive, engaged audience at incredibly well-promoted events. It doesnt stop there; Mozarts is the only nightclub in Swansea which hosts a regular poetry evening.
