Hey, so lets check out some independent movies that were released this week. Since distributors rely so much on genres, here are some new ones I think they should start using to help pigeon-hole...I mean, help audiences get a better idea of what they are being sold. Here goes: Horror? Comedy? Adventure? Sci-Fi? You get the point. Goodbye World (Action & Adventure?): A sucky futuristic post-apocalyptic tale that distributors only bought because Adrian Grenier is in it. Whats he done since Entourage? Nothing. Except a forthcoming Entourage movie. Alan Partridge (Comedy?): Definitely fits under the Comedy? genre. It took 5 WRITERS to bring this piece of crap story to you. But distributors bought it because Steve Coogan is in it. Anyone see this shit? Girls Night Out (Shit): Absolutely the WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME and an embarrassment to movie-making. Anyone involved with this movie should be shot. If I were a distributor, I would have bought this movie just so I could burn it and erase all traces of its existence. Best Worst Friends (Foreign?): Uh...I have no f***king idea what this movie is about, why anyone would make it or why anyone would have any interest watching it. Not Another Happy Ending (Comedy?): A predictable british romantic comedy that weve seen a thousand times. Some distributor out there thought we should make that one thousand and one. No thanks. So there you have it. Those are the types of movies distributors think you want to see. Have any of you seen any of these movies? ~ Love, Vic
