Heya ladies. Here is some info and tips for fatloss and lowering cortisol (stress hormone) levels. Cortisol- High cortisol is great for a short period of time as cortisol helps break down fat and protein as energy, but for extended and sustained periods of time (which is very common for women) it will slowly break down your body- weaken immune system, slow down metabolism, increase fat storage in the hips, love handles and lower stomach etc. Highly sustained cortisol levels can be due to many factors; most commonly from things such as: - over thinking, worrying, stressful job, stressful boss, financial pressures, personal issues, fighting with friends, yoyo dieting, lack of essential fats, relationships turmoils, skipping meals, reliance of stimulants aka coffee, reliance of sugars and carbs- which relates to lacking in essential fats, etc. To help lower cortisol levels, start with some basic lifestyle choices; exercise regularly, and eat healthy. Other useful daily tips: - reduce refined carbs (pasta, rice, bread, potato, choc, lollies etc) - begin the morning with fats - include a quality multi vitamin - include fish oil - reduce self inflicted stress (over thinking or worrying) - get more rest and sleep for 7 hours per night.
