Hi All I attended an out patient clinic yesterday and noticed the following: Nurses and Doctors are calling people’s names before they get into the waiting area. Hard of hearing and deaf people can not know when their name is called out which results in an even longer wait. · Nurses and Doctors called people from the back of the room. Again, Hard of hearing and deaf people would not know when they’re name is called out which will result in an even longer wait. · There is no signage when you enter the registration area. There are 3 desks but no one behind the desks makes eye contact with the patients. Each desk seemed to deal with a different area, which resulted in severe confusion. · From what I could gather, the norm is to take coloured, numbered card and wait for it to be called. The numbers were either shouted out or called out over the micro phone. Again hard of hearing and deaf people would not know when their number is called out which will result in an even longer wait. · would installing a digital number display, that states the colour and number of the card that is next in line help? Has anyone else experienced difficulty in this area? Id love to hear your thoughts
