Hi All I hope alls well Been given some photos for the group today and will be receiving more on Friday. More memories to add to the vast Archive. I may be getting a first world war medal too. In addition spoke to Father David from St. Marys this evening. He had updated me on whats happening at the church with regards to information that has been discovered about the history of the church. Its amazing to realise that 22,000 people are buried in the old church yard. He has asked if people would be willing to engage in a little project to unearth some of the headstones that lie just under the current soil levels. It would be great to get them cleaned up and catalogued for future generations. May I also remind you of the first world war commemoration event to be held at St Marys on August 23rd. There will be a parade, march to the church, church service, wreath laying at the Cenotaph and followed by refreshments and a display in the Magdalene centre. It is your chance to make history as the nation remember the day when Drummer Edward Thomas is reputed to have fired the first shot of the war for the British Army, hitting a German trooper. Please attend and remember the sacrifices made for us 100 years ago. Take Care Daz
