Email him if interested in performing on Sept 20th! mark@thefoundry From Mark: Ive got some friends Anne and Mark, that started this little party in their living room in 2007 for local south bay artists…and then it got a little bigger…and a little bigger…artists always nominate other artists…it went from the living room to the whole house, then from one house to two, then to a warehouse…and well…now it seems that weve taken over the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Ive got Flaming Lotus bringing Merope, Jon Sarriugarte is bringing the Golden Mean, and while not technically fire art the Nautilus is showing up as well. Weve got a ton of performance going on – one stage is set up as an acoustic music and fire art stage. Well have about 7 or 8 acoustic acts, and are hoping to put a fire art performance between each of those acts. Heres details on the event re fire performance: Date – September 20th Time – event opens at 6pm for early entry/VIP artists, 7pm for general particpants, through 1am. I dont have a stage schedule yet, but obviously wed like to schedule fire performance for after dark. Stage - The stage will also host acoustic musical performance. Fire will perform between music acts so that the stage is aways active. It is located in a very prominent spot, between a bar, spoken word lounge, entrance to the main pavilion and VIP area. There are about 7 or 8 musical acts, so about that number of fire performances would be great. We are only just now getting them lined up so its wide open. (I was waiting until i had high confidence on the permitting etc) Sound system – we will have amplification and ability to plug in performers sound sources for recorded music Live musical accompaniment – the stage will be sized to accommodate some, or musical performer can stage next to the raised stage Music selection – performers choice, probably go with recorded earlier in the evening and live percussion later in teh evening, if we have enough interest from enough performance groups. Green room – there will be a secure changing facility so performers can get in and out of costume so they can enjoy the party in whatever garb they desire before/after performance. Wed like flame effects to be secured in vehicles after performance is done to minimize drama w the fire safety guys. Safety – if possible wed like to have performers provide someone to act as their safety monitor during performance – we can talk logistics on this Well have a waiver of some sort that all artists & performers regardless of medium will be asked to sign (havent seen it, just heard about that one today) Free entry for performers A drink coupon for performers of course for AFTER they spin Food chit for the gourmet roach coach trucks on site Fire performers to send mark@thefoundry the following info if they can perform: Name Cell# Email Youtube or FB or some video of past performance The latter is partially requested because the county fire marshal is all for the event but has not had fire sculpture/performance before, so we are trying to assure the County that we are working with experienced performers only.
