Hi Brad This morning i was travelling up Moore Road and a police - TopicsExpress

Hi Brad This morning i was travelling up Moore Road and a police Quantam vehicle was behind me at the robots at the intersection of Moore and Umbilo roads, upon travelling further up the road at the robots at the BP garage they indicated for me to pull over, i was sacred as i did not know what to do but i pulled over, plain clothes guys jumped out and approached my window and asked for my drivers licence, i produced it to the guy at my window and when i looked again another guy was trying to open my passenger door,(thankfully it was locked) i then asked the guy what he was doing and he said i must open my door they are doing a "stop and search" they are police and can do it, i got out the vehicle at that point and let him search (i had nothing to hide), i was just very nervous as i did not know where the nearest police station was. They searched the front of the vehicle not the back and then asked me to open my boot, which i did. They found nothing, handed me my licence back and asked for my name, i then said to him you just saw my licence with my name on. Please tell me is this allowed. I know i should have maybe driven onto the nearest police station but i did not know where the nearest one was. It just seemed so strange to stop a lady by herself and did nothing wrong on the road. From BNI - Was the vehicle badged? Were appointment certificates produced? Sadly, when the SAPS are perceived to be doing nothing to stop crime, they are seen as incompetent but when they are pro-active they are perceived to be abusing their powers. Tricky!
