Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know of an opportunity that has come up for Youth. Ages 15-19 years old. The chosen youth will have the opportunity to go away to 3 different camps over a duration of one month. The chosen youth will travel for 4 weeks and be paid $500 per week and upon the completion will be given an additional $500. The youth will have the opportunity to learn many skills such as environmental practices and sustainability. There will be a 2-1 chaperone for each youth. Life skills will be taught as well. Gear will be purchased and food provided. The opportunity will start next week. All applicants are to provide a short essay, 250 words minimum and 500 words maximum on why protecting our environment is vital (important) and what cultural practices could be affected if we dont protect our territory. Please submit to [email protected]. The chosen applicant will be determined by an outside agency not affiliated with Metlakatla or its businesses. The applicant will be notified by chosen correspondence (email, phone, etc.) Deadline will be Wednesday July 2, 2014. I have added a few names on here just to get started.
