Hi Everyone, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and tell you about a meetup for Cosplayers that could be a lot of fun. First Ive been doing cosplaying for as long as I can remember, before they started calling it cosplay. I enjoy creating a great deal. My only real claim to fame right now is second place in the intermediate category at FanX (I created the Lord of Darkness mask and painted the model). I try and chime in on posts requesting ideas and help when I feel its within my experience to do so. Now for the fun part, many of you have asked about where to get poly resin, casting supplies and so forth. I usually direct you to FX Supply, they are local here and carry a lot of what we use as cosplayers, the owner Steve is amazing, he is a great resource and awesome to bounce ideas off of, awhile ago I introduced him to Worbla and he started a quest to look into it for me, he feels its too pricey and is looking for a way to create his own comparable product (cross you fingers). Anyways he is starting something up called Tuesday@FXsupply, where each week he will have a different theme going on, and next week August 5th is Cosplayers Only, it will be at 6:30, is free at 164 E Center Street, North Salt Lake. He asks that you bring a sample of something youve done and be prepared to tell everyone how you did it. There is no structure mostly think of it as a meet n greet with show n tell. This is a good opportunity for us to let him know what kind of supplies cosplayers are looking for so he can carry them in his shop.
