Hi, Gang! Well, we have the opportunity to rent Shively Hall (City Park) for an afternoon-evening get-together on Saturday, August 9 (the Saturday of Regatta Weekend) or another Saturday in later September, on the 27th. Weather is always reasonably good around both dates. We can do a simple bar-b-que, to begin sometime after the parade on Regatta Saturday or at the same time on 9/27. The cost to us to rent this venue is reasonable and we have some funds stashed away to help in providing a good start on food and beverages. There are other venue options as well, but this is the most affordable. Can we ask you to weigh in during the next few days? If we get an equally enthusiastic response to one or both of these days, and to the Shively Hall location, well commit to the one that is still available. City of Astoria cant hold either day for very long, so let us know your thoughts. If we find that the preferred date has been taken, we will opt for the second choice. If you have any other suggestions about alternative dates or venues, wed love to hear from you! Just finding the time to see each other and be able to catch up will be great fun.
