Hi Guys, I have seen many people never reach their peak - TopicsExpress

Hi Guys, I have seen many people never reach their peak performance levels because they lack paying attention to details. Here is a small blueprint you can use to help you become more attentive to details in the journey to hit your dreams. Its really easy to get involved in too many things at one time and suddenly start having all the details of those things falling through the cracks because we fail to prioritize. This can happen with things at home, if we are running a house (like paying the bills), if we are a student at school (forgetting assignments, or not doing assignments to our best potential) or even when we work (not being prepared for that big presentation). Fortunately, attention to detail is a learned skill and its one that we can definitely cultivate. Here are a few steps that will help to get us to focus on the details better 1. Get organized We will need to have organization in our lives to even have a hope of paying attention to the small things. This means having organization in our work or school life, keeping track of appointments and tasks that need to be accomplished so that we are prepared when its time to turn them in. 2. Make A Checklist Lists are a useful way to be organized and to make sure that we know when and how everything needs to come together. We can track the details when we have them written them down and kept it in a place where we can see them. In a world that is so tech savvy keeping a schedule on our phones with alerts is a simple solution Have a short-term (daily) & long term (weekly) list so that we are able to plan for things in advance with time to spare. Remember Chief Pathman 7 days a week? Once we completed an item on your list, check it off. That way we know that we actually did do it, (gives us confidence) and we feel a sense of accomplishment which boost our attitude and gives us the motivation to move ahead 3. Keep to a Specific Time Schedule Simplify the process and prioritize things by setting a routine that follows that same general rhythm daily. Our brain will be quicker to notice when we have made a mistake on any details because it has now become a habit 4. Limit Distractions Distractions come in a variety of forms: our family, our friends, or a partner who wont stop complaining, the internet, or even being hungry. When we are distracted with these things we begin to lose focus and make mistakes. Try and work in an area that is conducive to focus; not too hot, with good lighting and fewer people coming in and out Put the phone on silent and tell all partners not to call unless its an emergency or he is a direct that is less than one month old. If working from home, create a designated, organized work space. 5. Avoid Multitasking Multitasking spreads our attention out over a variety of items instead of focusing it onto one specific item, which means that we end up unable to give full attention to each item and seldom will be able to get all the details in order. Using the list that we have created, we can go from item to item, giving each full attention without checking the phone, Facebook or any other messages In the event we are forced to multitask, conserve energy by letting some of the details of an item slip, because we have too much on the plate. we can add it to the list and move on. Focus all attention on the most important items so that they get the necessary attention. 6. Make time to Exercise Exercise helps improve memory and concentration and is good for blood circulation. To help improve our attention to the details and to keep our memory strong, get 30 minutes of exercise each day. The exercise routine could be as simple as walking to the grocery store after a hard day networking, or could do 30 minutes of yoga, or go for a run, or even just put on some music and dance. 7. Take Short Breaks A good way to keep the brain sharp and willing to focus on the smaller details is to allow it to take breaks. Make sure that we schedule them around the same time each day and try for 10 minutes each. This will give the brain a chance to relax in time for the next project that has to be handled. A break can be something as simple as stretching and taking a short walk around away from the desk, or going for coffee down the street. If we find that we are getting really distracted or lethargic, this is a good time to find a place to do a little exercise or stretching. Basically, get the blood flowing. This has worked for many people including me. Use it and feel the difference in your life and see your attention to detail improve. FAITH leadership
