Hi, I hate Valentine’s day and I like this line in a sitcom where they say that it is ‘a scam created by the card companies’. Yes, I do not have a girlfriend and not even close to having one but that is not the reason as to why I hate the day. I understand mother’s day though it comes many times in a year and also women’s day but why do we need a day to celebrate love? Mother’s day is a necessity because few people in the current day do not end up appreciating their mother. I understand woman’s day as a day to celebrate the birth of feminism. I mean, they are equals in the society after all. Why celebrate a day for love when everyday with your loved one is a celebration? I understand that having days for such things makes people feel special. A rose that sells for a buck the day before sells for fifteen that day and I think guys know how important it is to have a rose. Guys alone are not the victims. Women have to get something too because love is sharing after all. The reason why I hate Valentine’s day is the fact that it shows love as a materialistic relationship when it is nothing but the union of souls. Forgive me but the meaning of love and marriage is the same in my dictionary. My whining will not bring this to an end but even if one person realizes that love is only sharing and not the gifts that we exchange, I will have made my point Love is a feeling Q
