Hi, Id like to take some time to introduce myself. Im Brian, and though my main work and training has been as a potter, I have also been involved in supporting weavery and textile art work in Camphill. I am currently based at the Bridge weavery. I have joined several groups to learn, to share and to let you know a bit more about our work too. Ive done a fair bit of wet felting though I am currently at looking how best to integrate it into the workshop with our people and to make easy, marketable products... and I see lots of talented and inspiring people here The Bridge Weavery and Craft Studio is a workshop of the Bridge Community, a part of the Camphill Communities of Ireland, and is an integrated workplace where people both with and without intellectual disabilities work together. As well as being a weavery we are working at diversifying into felting, silk painting and other accessible textile processes. Based in a beautiful location overlooking the river Liffey in Co. Kildare in Ireland, the Bridge Weavery provides very fulfilling work for the people working here, giving the experience of natural materials, colour and texture in a very therapeutic setting while offering meaningful work to people of varied abilities and talents.
