Hi! My daughter has type 1 and is 8 years old. We found out when she was about 3 years old that she had diabetes. She lately has been so depressed about having diabetes. First she had to change schools an the kids at school wouldnt hang out or go by her because they said diabetes was contagious. The next day she got to explain to the class about diabetes and show them her kit (she takes shots, scared of the pump). Now she comes home every day hungry and sometimes she comes home with snacks because it either was a birthday or the class had something special, and she just cries and says, I hate diabetes!! I feel so bad for her I just dont know what to do. She want to be able to eat whatever she wants whenever she wants. And she hates the fact shes so different from the other kids. Help! I want her to feel better about her diabetes and the fact that she is different. I really wish I could just take this from her.
