Hi Neighbors! In case you didnt know, we have a professional swimmer that is now calling Oakhurst home! Olympic bronze and silver medalist Amanda Weir, her husband Chris Davis, and Italian Greyhound Jupiter completed a gorgeous renovation on a sweet little bungalow and moved in at the end of June. Amanda and Chris are both in California as Amanda prepares to participate in the National Championship swim meet. This meet is the trial meet for the Pan Pacific Championship, held in Australia August 21-24. Pan Pacific Championship is an international meet between USA, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Brazil, and Australia. The fastest times from the National Championship tomorrow and the Pan Pacific Championship will be chosen for the World Championship held next summer. Amanda is coming from Suwanee and her entire community has followed and supported her career since high school. I thought it would be nice for her new community to let her know that we are proud of her and cheering for her back home! Her event will be televised tomorrow at 9:59 am for pre-lims and 6:00 for finals. Good luck, Amanda!!!
