Hi Somer, here is a copy of the email I received from Brenda about the Gala.... A work group has been formed to plan the activities for the 40th Anniversary celebration. Details are still being worked out, but we need the help of anyone having names and addresses of former NICU patients/families. We hope to have something around the Reunion for those older grads who dont come to the annual reunion. Also, we need pictures of the old NICU....equipment, staff, physicians, etc. A display is planned for the atrium and we hope to have enlargements made to depict the unit history. There will also be a staff celebration where we can have pictures of staff. Specific pictures needed: the old Armstrong warmer (remember the one heated by a light bulb), the first transporter, early model monitors, old oxygen analyzer (the one with the sensor that dropped down from the top of the Isolette), and anything else you can find. Young nurses and docs wont believe what we worked with compared to now. Stories would also be helpful...how we did something years ago that has changed. The only dates so far are: Friday, June 20, a mini-gala (fund raiser) Sunday, June 29, the NICU Grad party (Reunion) More details to come....stay tuned. Brenda Mohile [email protected]
