Hi Summoners, It has been over a week now since some of you have bumped into the waiting queue before being able to access League of Legends. We’d like to share some updates with you on this matter and also to give you the assurance that we are working round the clock and with every parties involved to improve the situation. As the League continues to grow at unprecedented pace here in the Philippines, Garena is constantly investing significant resources to keep up with the demand and provide the most stable infrastructure (servers, bandwidth, etc). As we speak, our present server setup and capacity is more than sufficient to accommodate the expected growth and our latest round of bandwidth upgrade will put the actual utilization far below the 50% level of our actual total bandwidth capacity. However, during our investigation with PLDT we also recently learned that PLDT’s main line (any PLDT user trying to connect to PLDT data center) is highly congested and during peak time their bandwidth utility is beyond the optimal level. This is similar in nature with the other case where Globe’s saturated main line accessing PLDT data center affects Globe users playing LoL when said Globe line is over-utilized (usually, during peak hours). With this new development, we’ve taken a pro-active measure to set a game platform cap to help reduce risk of further saturating the already stretched bandwidth line from both PLDT and Globe. This is done with the intent to not cause any interruption and bad user experience for Summoners who are already playing League of Legends. We understand that this has caused some inconvenience to those affected by making some wait for a while, but we do feel that this is the best possible temporary solution we can offer to ensure the best gaming experience for everybody. Rest assured, Garena continues to work closely with PLDT and Globe to exhaust all efforts to get a permanent solution done at the soonest. Thank you, LoL PH Team
