Hi! Whats the verdict on staff meetings - should they be paid or unpaid. Should the first one in the month be unpaid and any subsequent ones be paid? We have at least 2 hygienists + 1 assistant + 1 insurance coordinator + 1 front desk in daily, so any paid staff meetings will be approximately $100 / hour charge not counting if other staff members have to come in. We do not require people to come in on their day off and try to organize meetings around staff schedules but these generally happen over lunch. Sometimes we provide pizza; sometimes they bring in their own lunch. Some folks have complained about staying at work during lunch and not getting paid for it. Should we just provide lunch regardless or only provide lunch if unpaid? As we are a new office, we are trying to establish procedures so a meeting is sometimes necessary. We not do meetings just for the sake of having them. Thanks in advance.
