Hi Yvette, I have been meaning to email you my story! I started out keywording photos at XXXX. It was incredibly tedious so I starting inventing other projects on top of my daily work to show that I could do more. I made friends with lots of the engineers and designers and found out what they were working on and offered to help. My supervisor at that time was threatened by me and I got into trouble quite a few times. She told me I would never be made full-time, that I would always be a contractor keywording photos. She was a real b*tch but eventually she got fired. After about a year I was frustrated and thought of quitting but I love the company and the people I work with. So I applied for another job at the company, a data analytics job. One of our senior engineers saw my resume and decided I wasnt a fit but that he would create a new position on his team just for me where I could use my skills and grow and develop. Now I am working closely with our back-end, front-end, design, e-commerce, sales, international teams, and pretty much everybody to improve how the site works. Kind of a mix of user experience, project management, competitive analysis. I do something different everyday and I love it!!! I remember looking at this page with you when we were researching jobs at XXXXX.../xxxxxTeam They just added me to the page when I was converted to full-time in July and I cried tears of joy.
