Hi all! An update on Larry..... He is in surgery again right now 9/12/14 but it is a mini surgery. He has sponge pumps inside his chest and they are removing them and reinserting new ones. This doesnt quite explain it but close enough. He has about a 3 1/2 inch opening where you can see the sponge and the cord comes out. A great Halloween costume one of the nurses called it. They dont know what caused the infection. They have been growing a culture but it is not conclusive as yet. I have heard from many folks the body does not like the mesh and rejects it. So now they will every 3 days do a mini surgery to replace the sponge until it is all gone. He could be in here another week. The mesh will not be replaced but the dr. said that Larry has great scar tissue building and that will eventually serve to bind. The dr. just came in and said Larry is in recovery and chatting and doing well. Thanks so much for your love and prayers! We love you all. And thanks again Valerie for sharing.
