Hi all, I am pleased to announce my new adventure “NEVER GIVE UP NEVER SURRENDER”. It has been over a year since I have been on a trip. As you might know my last trip had to be cancelled due to the Platinum strike in the mining industry. Well the new trip is alive and pumping all systems go. This time I will be doing the return trip “The up ride”. I will be cycling from Durban to Thabazimbi leaving Durban on the 2 nd of January 2015. As always I will be promoting Reef’s sms line as he will always be an inspiration to me. Reef has always had my back and will always part of my every ride. Every 50km I finish I will be asking people please to send a sms to Reefs line and help him get the continued medical treatment he needs. I will also be cycling for “Helping Hands”. Helping Hands is a NPO and is run by an inspiring lady named Rykie May. Rykie looks after many cancer patients in and around Thabazimbi. Her area is vast and many km are travelled to give the care and counseling to patients in need. Helping hands relies on the community for funds and this often dries up leaving Rykie and Don reaching into their own pocket. But without a moan it’s done and Rykie gets into her car and does what she does best. Rykie lost her daughter Simone to cancer. Rykie dream is to open a Care Centre called Simone’s Care center. It would be a 8 bed unit equipped to help cancer patients. The unit is currently Through this ride we hope to raise funds for “Helping Hands” all funds that is donated will go directly to Helping Hands. The cost of the ride does not get deducted from the donations. You can help by pledging per km I cycled. The trip is around 1000km and if you pledge 10c per km and I complete 1000km your donation will be R100. Help us help Rykie with this awesome dream of hers. You never know when you or a loved one may need it. All funds collected gets ploughed back into “HELPING HANDS” the only people to benefit is the community itself as this NPO and Care Centre is in need in our community.
