Hi all, I dont know if the Ice Bucket Challenge has made it to your neighborhood yet, but if it has, or if it is about to, then please read this first, before becoming involved : water.org/water-crisis/water-facts/water/ If after reading the statistics pouring a bucket of perfectly drinkable / usable water still sounds like a great idea, then I guess theres nothing we can do. But if you agree that its rather senseless to waste such amounts of water, not to mention the energy that it takes to freeze it in the first place, then please abstain from getting involved, and ask your friends and contacts to do the same. Feel free to share the above link on every social media platform that you have access to. One can donate to good causes without wasting one of Earths most precious resources ... and something that millions of people dont have access to on a regular or irregular basis. And to end ... pouring water over ones head is not much of a challenge now, is it ? How about going for a 50 km hike or volunteering 50 hours of your time to look after the elderly, the needy, the homeless ? Thanks. PS the above is pure personal opinion.
