Hi all, Ill add my bit in. NHL: Kings AIHL: Melbourne Ice (Seems Im the only one!). I lived in San Diego in 1997-98, and I immediately fell in love with the game. I watched lots of Kings games when I was living in the US, and Ive managed to see one live game pretty much each time Ive gone back to the US ever since. The last few years have been great, especially with GameCenter Live. In terms of local hockey, I wanted to play when I got back home in the late 90s, but I was initially talked out of it due to my profession as a musician, specifically a pianist (I was told that I would sustain lots of hand injuries). However, Im going to start skating lessons this year, so Im looking forward to getting on the path to at least whacking a puck around with some fellow oldies. Both my boys (7 and 5 years old) did skating at the Icehouse last year, and have been doing junior hockey training at Oakleigh. So I have a dream of possibly being a referee for them one day, if they continue to enjoy playing. I also recenly found out that my great-uncle played for the Blackhawks at St Moritz in St Kilda in the 60s, so its nice to know that its in the family somewhere. We need to get the AIHL noticed by ABC Grandstand - I think that will be a big step forward for the league.
