Hi all Thankyou so much for praying. We are home (& jet lagged) & starting to catch up with life... We had a really good conference. It was a good time of learning for us (partly orientation for our new CCI role), both in class & as we fellowshipped with pastors & leaders from the Philippines & elsewhere in Asia. We look forward to sharing some of those stories face to face with you in coming days. We also had good opportunity to get to know Glenn Kurka (VP Operations, CCI) who we will be working closely with. There was also opportunity for fun together & some sightseeing which we all enjoyed (some photos attached). At the end of the conference we had one night at a nearby beach with David & Mindy Nelson. The night the conference ended while some were travelling home a typhoon passed through northern Philippines & Manila. This morning a severe earthquake (& aftershocks) has occurred in the city where we were for the conference. There has apparently been significant damage to buildings, but far as I know all the people we know are safe. Please be praying for them. At times like this it reminds us of the frailty of life. We do not know if we will have a tomorrow. This is a reminder to us of the importance of sharing with those who do not yet know, that we can have certain hope in God. As I returned home, I have received news that an uncle passed away last night, so I anticipate travelling to the south island this week for a funeral. Some of the family are unsaved.
