Hi all! This is Ru; as in the word of power from Skyrim meaning - TopicsExpress

Hi all! This is Ru; as in the word of power from Skyrim meaning run not the Hunger Games character or the kangaroo from Winne the Pooh. ;) But really, we call her bundebunneh most days. I hadnt planned to be a rabbit owner when she fell into our laps. Someone in our neighborhood had released their two rabbits outside because she didnt want them anymore. The woman said her children were upset because Ru kept killing her kits... She was housed with a male (who our friend took in). So unfortunately Ru spent the beginning of her life stressed out and in a tiny cage, having multiple litters. We brought her home and housed her in our large dog kennel until we could find something more appropriate and I spent the next week studying up. Shortly after we brought her home, we ended up with a nest of babies. We did the math and she would have bred the day before we picked her up, lol. Lovely. Although it was a wonderful experience raising three kits and their mama, it was very difficult to find them responsible homes and honestly, one of my choices turned out to be a poor one. We had plans of finding a good home for Ru but after the trouble I had rehoming the kits, I just didnt think I could find anyone who I deemed responsible enough for our little girl so we kept her. Shes come a very long way. From biting out of fear and not allowing anyone to touch her to willingly sitting on laps, playing with the dogs and cats, and exploring the house. Binkying outside in the grass seems to be her favorite hobby aside from digging burrows. So perhaps now is a good time to ask a question. Will she be able to lose her fat pouch on her neck or will she always have one? It seems to fluctuate according to diet and exercise but its not reduced completely since weve had her. A friend has commented a few times on it and I would hate to think shes overweight. I really just thought that being an unaltered female, shed always just have the pouch. Could anyone enlighten me? Thanks for the group add. :) I look forward to learning more from the community.
