Hi all, have a bit of a pressing question about our quarter horse - TopicsExpress

Hi all, have a bit of a pressing question about our quarter horse mare. Approximately 6 years old, was very underweight when we bought her last October. She has 2 odd front feet, theyre on the smaller side, and shes barefoot, with no lameness issues until these last few weeks. Previous barn we were at she had full day turnout, now mostly stalled with limited turnout during the week. Shes lame. Both fronts. The seems to try walking on her toes and she has some heel pain at palpitation. No heat or elevated pulse in her feet either. Ive called my farrier (Journeyman) so hell be out soon. Obviously a vet would be the wise call here, but without the vet, have any of you had this type of case? Biggest change is the stalled environment, but the last 2 trims were from a young blacksmith as I couldnt get an appointment with my regular blacksmith. Her case is worsening. Please any advice? I can take photos of her feet tomorrow. TIA.
