Hi all it is major giveaway time :) This is the big 1000 page likes giveaway. The major prize will be a casual day trip out on Googong dam chasing big murray cod with myself (Roman). Two people will win the major prize, strictly one male & one female. This will be scheduled to take place sometime next cod season during summer & in the peak cod fishing months. This will most likely be around mid-January to early February and the dates it will be worked out with the winners. You will also have a chance of capturing your possible big cod encounter all on film for you to keep a copy & watch back for a lifetime. There will be several other smaller giveaways such as several copies of Googong Green & Gold Strike 3 along with a couple Googong Green & Gold series triple packs including consolation prizes for the main big prize giveaway. Anglers Art & Pratts Tackle Box are generously throwing in a $50 gift voucher to spend in store or online. David Cole from DC Spinnerbaits has also chipped in with 4 quality Cod spinnerbaits & Peter Stanley from Honey Hole Lures is also putting up a cracker of a lure, a 100mm surface walker that has produced many cod surface for me this season. Thanks heaps guys & girls for your generosity, you have made this giveaway even better for the fans of the page & the fishing community. The format for the main prize giveaway will be to write up a little something on what fresh water native fishing means to you, how you got into it or why you enjoy doing it etc. Also do note it does not need to be a novel just what you feel so be creative, funny and feel free to do something different for that wow factor. You also need to either attach a photo or video from one of your most enjoyable moments while fishing for Australian freshwater natives with the story. This does not have to be a fish photo/video, it can simply be something that is included/seen while chasing these wonderful freshwater fish. Example – the wonderful wildlife or country side you see while targeting these fish or the friendships you have made in the process etc. The process in choosing the winners will start with me picking 6 of my favourite stories for the 2 main prizes, so that would be 3 male entries & 3 female entries (note again there will be two main winners 1 male & 1 female). After that process I will leave it up to you guys the fans of the page to decide who wins with a simple vote, which will run for a few days and simply the more likes on a story will win. I understand that most freshwater lure fishermen/women are very passionate about our awesome sport so that is why I have decided that it would be fairer to you all ifall the fans on the my page pick a winner rather than just myself. This way it will take out the whole “favouritism” debate which unfortunately these days some people will most likely bring up if the winner happens to end up being someone I know if I had to choose the winner. During the next couple of weeks while I read through the entries I will run the standard guessing comps like I have done for all to enter if you do not fit the requirements for the main comp. This will shape up to be a fun couple of weeks with many comps for all to have a chance at a prize. The first guessing comp will start this Thursday 18/07/2013 at 8pm. Once again there will be two comps, the first anybody can enter & the following will be a ladies only comp. The prize will be a copy of our latest dvd Googong Green & Gold Strike All entries are to be private messaged to me once they are complete. The last day of submissions that will be accepted will need to be in by 10pm (Saturday) 27/07/2013.
