Hi all, time for todays Belinda update. So far there hasnt been a huge change from yesterday. Unfortunately there was a bit of a drama with the recording of her C/T scans so there was a delay in the orthopedic surgeons being able to review them. The best info we have is that the plan is the same as yesterday, with a brace to be fitted tomorrow, and while they still havent completely ruled out surgery, its pretty unlikely. Its been a bit of a trickle of information, but hopefully things will ramp up tomorrow with the long weekend over. What it has meant is that she is still not allowed out of bed, or even allowed on her side - just the bed up 30 degrees, pillows behind her head and under her legs, and thats where she stays. Sure makes you appreciate the little things, like rolling over in bed!! But shell certainly take this over the alternative! Her pain has been kept fairly well under control, sometimes she gets uncomfortable but as usual the nurses are doing a wonderful job and organising what she needs. We have both been overwhelmed with peoples messages of support and offers of help, she feels extremely loved! She is still tired at times and a bit spaced out from the meds so isnt always able to get back to people quickly but keep the messages coming as they give her a boost. She is up for visitors so feel free to drop in to the Alfred, sometimes shes a bit tired but enjoys having something other than my mug to look at! Again, well keep you all updated as we know more, and hopefully shell be on her way home soon!
