Hi everyone! I got in touch with Dr. Yannacone today, and she said that she would be happy to support a memorial bench for Tamika. (My dad just told me that Dr. Noonan, the superintendent, has also caught wind of the project and thinks its a great idea.) As for a memorial project for Rachael Highfield, since some of you expressed interest in that, she already has a memorial tree planted for her in the cafeteria courtyard. I believe what Dr. Yannacone has in mind is a bench in the cafeteria courtyard, and the schools business secretary will contact me with a quote for the cost of that soon. But from the discussion on the previous post, I think it would be best if we wait a bit before proceeding with contacting Tamikas family about this and taking the project any further. I know some of you expressed interest in offering your own craftsmanship for this project, but Im not sure if that will be possible. I may bring it up with Dr. Yannacone when(/if) we go ahead with the project later on, but it sounds like they already have a specific area and design for memorial benches. Im thinking of popping by the school tomorrow to take a look at them, if I can get in without being deemed suspicious. So there we go. Just wanted to keep you all up-to-date on where we are!
